Eye Designs Exclusive: Mykita x Perlon Records

Manufactured and designed in Berlin, Germany, Mykita has partnered with Perlon Records for the release of a custom eyewear design, marking the 20-year anniversary of the music label. The resulting sunglasses represent minimalistic and experimental sensibilty that connects the two labels. The unique lens shape derives from the Perlon logo typeface, with all of the individual letters having been layered, rotated and melded to form the outline of the frames.

A characteristic Mykita stainless steel frame in a navigator style, the Perlon collaboration stands out via a subtly polygonal lens shape and bicolour surface pattern, a reference to the label’s iconic record sleeve designs. Limited to 50 pieces per color, the exclusive package pairs the sunglasses with, a 7-inch single by Markus Nikolai featuring sounds from the modern manufactory – it is the 115th release from the house of Perlon.
